CSH Rotary welcomed graduating CVU senior Griffin Hengelsberg, who shared how service has shaped his high-school years and his plans for college.
CSH Rotary's June 3 meeting highlighted service at every stage of life, from members volunteering at the Snack Shack and supporting local food shelves to a graduating student's work in his community.
The club welcomed CVU senior Griffin Hengelsberg, a CSH Rotary scholarship recipient from Charlotte. Griffin described volunteering at the Charlotte Food Shelf, where he helped with distributions, purchasing, and stocking, as well as mentoring younger students through school robotics programs across the district. His work with the Charlotte Central School team helped students achieve their best finish yet at the state championship.
Griffin plans to study mechanical engineering at Cornell, with an interest in sustainable-energy systems including wind and hydroelectric power. He also hopes to continue robotics outreach and community service while in Ithaca.
Members also reviewed upcoming club activities, including Dragon Boat recruitment, summer fellowship plans, the Changing of the Guard gathering, food-shelf support, and possible volunteer work at the fair. The morning offered a fitting reminder that Rotary service grows through both long-standing commitments and the next generation stepping forward.
