Denis collected the happy fines.
Rene updated the club on happenings in the school district this fall. He just began his second year. Their focus will be on growth and belonging, for all students. This is very important right now as students are adjusting to life in a post pandemic world.
Staffing is an issue but the district has been very fortunate for being almost fully staffed for teachers. Para educators, aides, food service, custodial and maintenance are positions that remain unfilled.
This district has been consolidated for five years now with the last two and a half being during the pandemic. Undergoing a strategic planning process within the district to affirm they are moving in the right direction. Measurable goals and directives will be created, along with the budget. An equity audit was completed by the District, the results will be revealed Tuesday at the board meeting.
The state redevelopment of the funding starts the next budget cycle, 2024-2025. However, the communication process needs to start now because it will have an impact on all districts, particularly, CVSD. He believes this is important so that communities will approve the budgets.
There will be many opportunities for feedback, including the farmer’s market tent Rene has personally staffed. Once a month, there are “town halls” opportunities for conversation and information. The Zoom link to these town halls is on their website: www.cvsdvt.org. The first one is September 14 at 6:30. Link:
