CSH Rotary Club - April 28, 2021

Chris Davis rang the bell to start the meeting at 7:34am.

Nancy Danforth provided some opening words from Tennyson.

Chris reported that the school bus delivery of lunches is back in operation again.

Pond cleaning - a group of volunteers cleaned the pond by the Shelburne Town Hall last Saturday.

Green Up Day - Diana Vachon reported that 113 people and groups have signed up to be part of Green Up Day in Shelburne.

Susan Grimes reported that we only have three bikes left for the spin-a-thon. Ski Rack will have a pop-up tent there. Donations are coming in.

She also reported that we now have an Instagram account at https://www.instagram.com/cshrotary/

Laurie Burke wrote a story to go out to local papers about the spin-a-thon and a bit about Rotary.

Suzanne Snyder Johnson, our speaker, heads up Sail Beyond Cancer - https://www.sailbeyondcancer.org/  She spoke the programs they offer and how powerful the impact is on the people involved. They take people out for 3-hour sailing trips three times a day, seven days a week. The group does all it can to make a memorable experience for the cancer patient and their families (or others they want to have involved). Suzanne showed a video of CSH Rotary Club member Terrell Titus where she spoke about her participation in two sails and her own involvement with cancer. The group had a good discussion about how to get involved and all the various aspects of the program.

Susan Grimes provided our closing words.
