This morning got off to a bit of a surprise when our keycard wouldn't open the door at the Shelburne United Methodist Church! 😱 But showing our Club's resilience we quickly pivoted to setting up on the new set of picnic tables that were installed across the street on the Shelburne parade ground (where the Farmer's Market is on Saturdays). By a fluke we even happened to have our Rotary 🔔 to start off the meeting! With beautiful temperatures, a clear blue sky, and a "Box of Joe" quickly picked up from Dunkin, we were off and running!
Many thanks to our guest speaker, Lisa Fitzgerald, Development Manager for the American Cancer Society here in Burlington, for rolling along with us and giving her talk standing up by a tree!
Lisa talked about all the amazing work the American Cancer Society does, let us know about upcoming activities, and answered questions from members. As part of our service to our towns, we donated a book in her honor to the Carpenter Carse library in Hinesburg.
It turned out to be a great way to start the day! Many thanks to all the Rotarians who helped with the setup - particularly Chris Davis for coordinating the pivot to the picnic tables, and Harriet Mace for coordinating the food and pastries.
See you all next week... inside at the Shelburne UMC community room!
