Rev. Don Chatfield speaks to our Rotary at this week's breakfast meeting

At this morning's Rotary meeting, Amanda, our President reminded all to review the budget in preparation for our upcoming budget vote on Tuesday, May 28. There were some questions during the budget discussion as well as an announcement that based on the proposed budget, dues will remain the same at $275 unless there are discussions that drastically change the overall budget.  We will discuss the budget further at our next meeting.  A copy of the budget is in this week's newsletter emailed on May 13th.

Our spelling bee team for next week consists of Greg Larsen, Linda Barker, and potentially Susan Grimes and/or Dan York! I think one other person mentioned being interested. Please let Amanda Vincent know ASAP if you are interested in being on the Spelling Bee team.

Rev. Dr. Don Chatfield from All Souls Interfaith Gathering was today's speaker.   Rev. Chatfield is the Lead Pastor at All Souls, with a background in interfaith ministry, environmental studies, and community development.  All Souls Interfaith is an unaffiliated religion that has grown quickly.  Although religious affiliations of all denominations have dropped off in many places throughout our country, unaffiliated religion has grown - "People are as hungry as ever to connect with the divine and have a spiritual part of their lives."  Mary Abele founded All Souls back in 2000 - this year they will celebrate their 25th anniversary.    All Souls is focused on 4 Pillars: First, Spirituality - experiencing many different kinds of religion and spirituality in community, working together in spiritual goodness as a community; Second, Service - being of service to others; Third, Music - music is an important and useful doorway we can all experience the divine together.  Fourth, Environment - being in a deep relationship with the earth, caring for the earth together. All together, All Souls is developing a culture of generosity, giving and understanding through their works and worship.

All Souls will be moving to Shelburne Commons off of Rte. 7 - all are welcome!  The website is AllSoulsInterfaith.org - their website has a weekly newsletter.  Leaving room for all voices, showing love to everyone who comes in the door.
