The CSH Rotary Club gathered on July 2nd for a lively meeting led by President Catherine Moller, who guided members through a packed morning of updates, plans, and fellowship.

Carol reported that the club contributed $6,600 to the Rotary Foundation in 2024, with notable thanks to Jessica Brumsted’s support. Dan followed with details on the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival on August 3rd - a fundraiser for Dragon Heart Vermont. A practice is set for July 20th, and participation is open to all, including other local clubs.

Service projects remain in motion. The bike repair station has arrived and will be installed in coordination with Margaret Woodruff. The Howard Center garden beds are on hold pending materials from Rice Lumber, though compost is secured and ready.

Preparations for Shelburne Day (August 16th) are ramping up. Carol is seeking gas grills, and the club is considering borrowing corn-boiling equipment from the Essex Rotary. Catherine will circulate a volunteer sign-up soon.

Members were reminded to pay their dues ($275), with an option to contribute to the club's hardship fund. A discussion on breakfast contributions led to suggestions for reimbursements and a more formal rotation.

Happy Fines brought personal highlights - from international travel and family visits to cancer milestones and support for Vermont Green FC - raising $45 in the process.

Catherine closed by outlining her presidential priorities: improving clarity, tightening club organization, and strengthening events and leadership. The morning ended with a lighthearted “Would You Rather” game and a closing quote from Paul Harris: “The greatest gift you can give someone is time.”
