Catherine Moller, our President Elect, stepped in today for our current Co-Presidents and did a terrific job!

Linda Barker talking with Rotarians about helping out at the Snack Shack. Thank you Linda!!!
Today is the first week of June, hence it is time we put aside for a club meeting so that we can discuss important matters as we consider both our service projects, our fundraising programs and our needs assessments as we consider what projects to support in the communities where we live and work. Today, we discussed the coming year and what we hope to achieve. Rotarians split into groups and discussed where they hope to focus their efforts. We all came back together afterwards and summarized our table discussions. The topics ranged from food insecurities to helping out our partners that have been hit hard by the reduction of funds from the federal government and tightening of local and state budgets. Scholarships for children wanting to participate in recreational sports like baseball and soccer, help for the library as they do so much to help middle school children explore reading, art and drama, help for those who are aging and in need of assistance especially with food and fuel. There is clearly no end to the intense needs and we hope to help both with our service and any funds we are able to raise during this time.
We also spent some time thanking rotarian, Linda Barker, for all her hard work directing the busy Snack Shack at the Shelburne baseball fields in the center of town. Many Rotarians from this club along with high school volunteers helped Linda to make it all happen but she was absolutely irreplaceable behind the counter. Keeping track of a million venmo accounts, counting up the dollars and cents, watching to let the Little League Leaders know when we were running out of hotdog rolls or ice cream, making sure all the recycling and garbage ended up where it belonged, watching out that nothing was lost during the long evenings, and most importantly modeling a wonderful friend to everyone who stopped by the Shack no matter how young or old they might be! (Plus, she really and truly loved every minute of it!) We are very grateful! Thank you Linda!!!
