Our new President Susan Grimes opened her first meeting and spoke about the three R’s to focus on during the 2021-2022 Rotary year. The meeting was the first in-person meeting since March 2020. The club meets at the Shelburne Methodist Church and online via Zoom.
Club Business Meeting of July 7, 2021
Susan Grimes called the meeting to order at 7: 35.

Susan opened her first meeting and spoke about the three R’s to focus on during the 2021-2022 year.
Resilience:
Susan mentioned all the projects and events the Club accomplished during the past year. Virtual meetings led by Chris Davis, Past President, food and kitchen preparation in Shelburne and Charlotte schools, the winter coat drive, Race Vermont, providing turkeys during the holidays, the Spin A thon and money sent to Tela.
Reengagement:
Now we are meeting in person again but hybrid, with the opportunity to Zoom as well. Dan York has managed the technology of all of it. Now the Club will get reacquainted, work again with the CVSD summer food program, weeding in the garden at Charlotte Central School, we continue to provide Rotarians at the Race Vermont events, and we hope to do the golf ball drop again as a fund raiser.
Susan shared a goal/theme of our current Rotary International President, Shekhar Mehta, “Reach one Bring one” theme. If each member brought in one new member, there would be 1.3 million members by July 2022.
Revitalize:
Susan also discussed starting over and bringing in young people and how to do that. Encouraging us to get the word out about Rotary, perhaps having popup meetings in Hinesburg, Charlotte Senior Center, or one of the libraries.
Susan ended by leading us in the Rotary four-way test.

Chris Davis reported the next Race VT event is August 7 at Shelburne Sugarworks. 7:30-11:00. Parking will be provided by Rotary.
Roz Graham advised the farmers market returns to the parade ground this Saturday, July 10. A couple of volunteers are needed.
Linda Gilbert shared the garden weeding is complete for now at the Charlotte Central School. There may be an opportunity to weed again at the end of August.
Chris Davis gave a bike station update, hoping to have the ones for Hinesburg and Charlotte in August.
Susan Grimes shared the golf ball drop is back on and will take place at Kwiniaska Golf course. Date to be announced soon. She also asked if anyone has any new project ideas to email her and to please sign up for a committee.
Dennis Barton, Ambassador, asked the members to share a highlight or happy story from the past year while collecting happy fines.
