Charlotte Senior Center BBQ, Aug 25
John Hammer said that 8 volunteers had signed up, but two had had to drop out. BBQ is held by the Charlotte Senior center for the citizens of Charlotte. It is held from 5pm on Friday, August 25th. We need two volunteers at 3pm - one to cut and slice and another to help with furniture moves. All others need to be there about 5:45. Dinner is served at 6pm and lasts about an hour. A meal is provided to all volunteers. All volunteers have been contacted by Email and they will continue to get updates by Email.

Shelburne Day
Linda Gilbert stated that she had enough volunteers, though there are plenty of positions that can still be filled. There is a food concession supporting Hands to Honduras – Tela and there will be several H2H-T volunteers to help. Attached to the tent is the Rotary Tent with banners, recruiting material and golf ball ticket sales. There will be roving ticket salesmen. They will also be handing out new flyers for recruiting new members. Sam Feitelberg said that the Veterans’ booth at the other end of the fairway will be selling golf ball tickets. Everyone is encouraged to wear Rotary identification including their buttons. Volunteers in the booth will be wearing Rotary aprons. T-Shirts were made available for $7 (at cost).

Golf ball Drop
John Dupee and Bob Sanders updated on the Golf Ball drop and reported that sales are going well – 572 sold so far and all tickets have been distributed for sales. Sales will continue until 1 pm at Shelburne Day. John asked those present to stick around to help pick up the balls. It was suggested that young people be enlisted to pick up the balls as they are closer to the ground.

Honduran Visit
Linda Gilbert reported that three Honduran medical staff: Two doctors and a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit nurse, from Tela will be visiting for ten days starting Monday. They will be staying with the Gilberts and working and taking training sessions at the UVM Medical Center (UVMMC). One of the translators will be one of our past Tela high school translators who came up here to finish school at Rice and then graduated from St. Michaels. Jose now works as a phlebotomist at UVMMC.
