Weekly Notes 9.7.2022

Club Meeting

Carrie called the meeting to order at 7:30 am.

Volunteers are needed for set up and take down at the Shelburne Farmer’s Market this Saturday, 7:30 am and 1:00 pm.

RaceVermont is seeking volunteers this Saturday, September 10 for the race. Be at Shelburne Beach at 7:15 am. If you can help, email Chris Davis. 

Jim Donovan is planning a Hinesburg town hall crocus planting event on October 15 at 9:00 am.  Carrie, Amanda, Keith and Jim volunteered.

October 22 is the Wood 4 Good Chittenden County Rotary project.  Dan will coordinate the following volunteers: Nancy, Chris, Amanda, Richard, Erica and Keith.  He’ll plan to sign up for the 9:00 to 11:00 shift.

Jessica shared upcoming speaker updates and encouraged the members to think about a holiday project.  A wellness speaker is also being scheduled. Discussion of other projects included Christmas tree (decorated) donations to families with presents. 

We do plan to participate in the winter coat drive.

Consideration of having our holiday party at The Backyard Bistro at Charlotte Crossings was discussed.

October 6 we will have a social get together at The Public House in Hinesburg. 

October 9, Charlotte Tractor Parade.  Linda Gilbert will obtain more information and get back to us.

Gary collected the happy fines.

Bob updated us on the Golf Ball Drop, eight days until the event. We are at about 40% of the goal. Cash sales are possible, just obtained name, email and phone number and send them to Carrie. Margo and Carrie will be at the Hinesburg IGA Thursday night for sales. Every member ought to try to sell twenty balls. Please sell!  There will be no food but the Kwini Club sells beer and wine.  Dan will do a live stream on Facebook and Chris, Margo and Susan will be travelling in the helicopter.

Ric updated us on the “No” Car Raffle on October 14.  Please collect door prizes, twenty five are needed.  He will be passing out a volunteer sign up sheet soon for set up, table decorations, table bussing and stage crew.  Publicize!

Richard updated us on the Halloween parade on October 30.  “The best float” contest will be an Instagram event.  A volunteer sign up sheet will be sent around soon.  He suggested the Shelburne Business Professional Association place a call out in their newsletter for local businesses to have floats, great advertising.  He also has a proposal for music to be played before and after the parade.

Carrie adjourned the meeting at 8:30
