Our guest speaker at yesterday's meeting was the CVU Volunteer Outreach Club. We were joined by adviser Amy Wardwell and student leader Nick Glacias. Jim Donovan presented the book “A Good Deed Can Grow” to Amy and Nick, which will be donated to the Pierson Library.

Ric presented two new members, Gail Feitelberg and Catherine Moeller!   We all know Gail and she is thrilled to be part of this amazing club.  Catherine was involved in RYLA and Rotoract in South Jersey as a youth, and owns a boutique in Hinesburg.   

 

Snack shack volunteering opportunities are still available.

 

The Changing of the Guard will be at Back Yard Bistro on June 23. There will be three options for food menu items.

 

$2000 will be funded by the Rotary grant project. Our club has also received a teacher grant submission for the first time in recent history.

 

One RYLA application has also been received.

 

Dave reported our Farmer’s Market non profit tent is occupied through July. If you have any ideas please reach out to him.

 

Union Bank and Argosy Foundation have donated $1,000 and $2,000 respectively.

 

Spin A Thon still has some slots available!!!

 

Amy and Nick introduced themselves as a teacher at CVU and VOC Adviser and Nick is a student and member/leader of the VOC.  

 

The club meets once a week during the school day to review and seek volunteer opportunities.  Shelburne Museum and Shelburne Food Shelf are weekly committments, for example.  They have made cards for individuals, volunteered at Pie for Breakfast, Spectrum Sleepout, Polar Express, Walk to Defeat ALS, Charlotte Food Shelf, Cots Walk, Big Change Roundup, Clothing Drive for Earth Day, Planet Pack (a green up day), to name a few!  

 

Upcoming event participation: Take Back The Night, RunVermont & Vermont City Marathon, and Flight School at CVU.
