Club meeting

Susan called the meeting to order at 8:30.

Rick announced the car raffle will be October 14.

Susan thanked the RaceVT volunteers who were in attendance this past weekend.  The next race is June 18.

Susan announced that the Farmer’s Market sign up sheet for set up and take down is circulating.   Set ups should take place around 7:30 to 8:00. The tent, tables and chairs will be on the back of Richard Fox’s office on the porch weekly.  The first market for our club is Memorial Day weekend and various seedlings will be passed out.  We’ll support Ukraine(donation), have information on projects we’ve done this year and information for prospective members.

Chris shared that he and the Shelburne Boyscouts will be planting plants at Meach Cove this Saturday from 9:00 to 12:00. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Susan shared that the AED has been ordered along with the plaque and the mounting bracket.  It ought to arrive within a couple of months.

Four RYLA recipients will be able to attend the conference having applied for the scholarships.

Today is a club meeting where we will break out into two groups. One will brainstorm on The Changing of The Guard celebration and what activities to plan.  The second group will be discussing the Farmer’s Market.

Linda Barker shared that two VSAC scholarships will be awarded by our club.

John Dupee collected the happy fines.

The Farmer’s Market group discussed the May 28 Rotary market. We will engage the local schools to make posters with an environment theme, trees, specifically.  Susan and Rene will manage this project.  They will be hung in the tent along with the seedling distribution.  The target group is K1-4.

July 2 will be the next Rotary market and we will go with a solar/renewable theme and Carrie can provide some items.  The club also has shopping bags to hand out that day and enough to last quite awhile.

The Changing of The Guard group decided not to have any fundraising or money requested at this event.

Susan adjourned the meeting at 8:30.
