Our club shared various sentiments about Jim Spadaccini.

Jim was referred to as “Mr Rotary” and was instrumental in the beginnings of the CSH Rotary Club along with Bill Deming.  He served as President of the club and District Governor.  He created the car raffle and the blue velvet bag that contains the 100 ping pong balls, still used today.  He was also very involved in the Rotary International Foreign Exchange Program.

Ric shared the story of how he met Jim and Jim’s first construction job was at Smith, Bell & Thompson where Ric worked.  Jim completed their deck while Teena was in the hospital in those early years of their friendship.

Bill shared some remembrances of Jim of the Dismas House and actual turkey delivery to individual homes.

Susan, Dan,  Bob, Carole, Tom Glaser,  and Linda all shared some remembrances of Jim.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:20.
